  • Envisioned and balanced 50+ card effects, their interactions, and playing costs

  • Balanced game progression to create exciting card scaling as turns advanced

  • Developed algorithm to offer new cards that facilitates game progression

Results: Ranked 19th (top 3%) out of 634 entries

Game: Management turn-based card game

​Role: Lead Designer, System Designer

  • Balanced game progression, 40+ game cards, and quest system

  • Designed, modelled, and tuned in-game economy

  • Developed card drawing algorithm to create more uniform card-type distribution

Brackeys Game Jam, Project: Xenomouse 

Game: Cross between pet simulator, roguelite, and maze game

  • Balanced game progression to create an 8-10 minute experience

  • Created maze level including enemy patrol routes and item locations

Game: Text-based interactive fiction

  • Implemented time system to progress the player through the game 

  • Wrote all parts of the game

  • Created treeless system for altering narrative course based on player decisions

Education

I recently graduated from a double degree program comprised of a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

My studies provided a thorough math background, including familiarity with

AI  •  optimization  •  graph theory  •  statistics  •  linear algebra  •  data structures  •  algorithms   

​

I also gained many practical business skills, including

product design & innovation  •  analytics  •  documentation  •  presentation   business sustainability

​

As part of the double degree program, I also completed five full-time internships, which provided hands-on experience in product development, analytics, and innovation.
